The 2010 Ride Monroe County bike ride will be held on October 2nd, 2010, beginning at 6:00 am registration in the downtown historic Courthouse in Monroeville, Alabama. The courthouse is well known for its scenes from "To Kill a Mockingbird" and home town of author of the book, Nell Harper Lee. This year we are celebrating the 50th year of the book "To Kill A Mockingbird". Come visit an historic site, the courtroom from the movie and see the beautiful town of Monroeville.
Your route will take you to some of the most beautiful and historic areas of Monroe County.
Registration is $35 on or before September 15th, ($40 after September 15th). Registration will include a ride t-shirt, a goody bay, lunch, and snacks and water along the route at each reststops. There will be designated rest stops at various points along the routes.
SAG vehicles will provide rider support along the route.
If you plan to stay before or after the ride, local hotels are available. Hotels in the Monroeville area are: Holiday Inn Express, Best Western, Days Inn, Americas Best Value Inn, Monroeville Inn, and Budget Inn. Some hotels may have a late checkout, just ask when making your reservation.
The Ride has three routes available:
Yellow Route : 26 miles (Great for someone just getting into riding)
Green Route : 62 miles (Metric Century, lots of hills)
White Route : 102 miles (Century Ride, lots of hills)
